Does Passion Die?

Posted on Jun 18th, 2008 by Hoda
Take-your-passion

Just the other day, I ran into an old classmate and we were chatting about school and life in general. He asked me if I was still studying Fashion Design. I replied that I am with a proud smile on my face.
He than asked me why I was putting myself in such a risky position.
I answered with one word; "passion! "
He paused for a moment and then exclaimed; "But passion dies."
Bewildered at his response, I simply replied "If it dies, then it wasn't true passion to begin with."
Speechless at the moment, he completely changed the subject and rushed out of our conversation.

I have become accustomed to the surrounding negativity of my community, however, those words of my classmate will always stick with me. I feed of that negativity and it only makes me stronger, encouraging me to continue to pursue my passion and follow my dreams!

To my old classmate and others, passion dies. However, to me it only thrives...

What book are you reading right now?

Posted on Jun 12th, 2008 by Hoda
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 26, 2007:

I'm currently reading Confessions of an Economic Hit Man by John Perkins. Perkins was an Economic hit man (EHM) who was paid to  trick impoverished countries out of their money. Left with the overwhelming debts, these countries have no choice but to side with the United States and to continue under their control. Perkins, who could no longer hold the lies in, wrote a novel in which he spills his confessions of the catastrophe he has helped create. So far, I have found it very interesting and can not seem to put the book down! This book will open your eyes to the subversion the United States has provoked and educate you about the significant news the media fails to release. I strongly recommend this book to others!
